Yom HaAtzmaut Epic Car Parade

Brauser Maimonides Academy and Young Israel of Hollywood-Ft. Lauderdale are excited to announce this year’s EPIC Yom Ha'atzmaut parade celebration. Together, we will be celebrating Israel’s 72nd Birthday with a ruach-filled parade through Emerald Hills. We invite all community families to participate, by CAR ONLY, no matter where you live.

Everything you need to know to join the parade can be found on this page.

  1. How do we join? Should we decorate our cars?
  2. Where do we line up and where will the parade route take us?
  3. How will we know what is going on as the parade progresses?
  4. There'll be music, right? And food?
  5. What steps are being taken to ensure health and safety?
  6. Can I see that flyer one more time?

How do we join? Should we decorate our cars?

We encourage all families to come to the parade prepared with decorated cars and flags to wave. Be as creative and different as possible. There will be a prize for the Best Decorated Car in the parade.

Where do we line up and where will the parade route take us?

Please see the map below for the answers to this question. You will enter the parade queue by entering N 40th Ave from North Hills Drive, left onto N 41st St and looping around to 41st Ct. This will ensure a safe and smooth que and line to hold cars (please do not wait in an intersection). See the route below:

How will we know what is going on as the parade progresses?

Our parade will be broadcast live, all over the world on the Nachum Segal Network. We highly recommend that you download the NSN app so you can listen during the parade.

We also have a  Whatsapp group that will be used to give you updates and instructions about the parade. It will only be used for this purpose and it is broadcast-only so you will not be flooded with loads of messages. Join by clicking here on your phone.

There'll be music, right? And food?

It wouldn't be a parade without music! When you listen on the NSN App, guest host Avi Frier will play music in honor of Yom HaAtzmaut. The music will be streamed live, so we'll all be in sync. Hook it up to your car's Bluetooth so we can all hear it!

Once the parade begins, there will be stations set up along the route to deliver special Israeli-themed treats (following strict health and safety guidelines as detailed below).

Thank you to our treat sponsors:

What steps are being taken to ensure health and safety?

We continue to follow all social-distancing guidelines. Attendance in the parade should be by CAR ONLY. Even if you live in the area, we ask that you refrain from walking to North Hills to ensure our community continues to be safe.

We ask all driving participants to adhere to local driving laws and keep a proper distance from cars ahead of you. Additionally, please make sure your car is stopped when receiving a treat at your window.

All treat items distributed during the parade have been handled with gloves and masks, are individually packaged, and will be delivered to your car window with 6-foot extensions (poles with baskets attached to the end).
